zurich to milan to roma

12 hours in transit is difficult. too much time to think. i made it though. now i am listening to some suprisingly awesome Roman hip hop. no wait... just changed it... smashing pumpkins, in the arms of sleep.

am super happy, traveled all about Rome today. looking forward to tomorrow.

the rundown on zurich - jane is a bad ass. she took care of me. showed me round the town. clubbed it up at night. saw tons during the day. felt too comfortable there and really did not want to leave... her friends had us over for a traditional swiss dinner. swiss cheese cooked under a grill, on the grill you cook veggies... we had mushrooms, zuccini, tomato, red onion. when the cheese is bubbling you pour it on your veggies. it is really good... i think we all ate too much cheese. :)

it is a bit frightening going to a new city. you know nothing... can not even feel reality. i ran far and fast in the train termini in milano, missed my train. carrying my laptop and super heavy backpack... was really freaked out. should have cut what i brought in half. there are some items i have not used or needed. should have brought more soap and toothpaste, less button up shirts.

it always works out though. i got a 1 dollar espresso and caught the next train an hour later. when i arrived in Roma, it was complete madness, people buzzing by me, noise every where. had no idea where i was going... the lost feeling is so liberating. you feel very vulnerable. america is convenient... our own cars, know where everything is... i get it. now it is lost in translation, walking up to strangers asking for help...

today a middle age philipino woman, Daisy, spoke to me. i asked her, "do you speak english?"

was lost and needed help getting to my destination. she went out of her way and got on the tram with me... then took me to the metro, showed me how to get a metro card, we spoke the entire time about our lives. before i got on the tram, she would not let go of my hand, told me to be careful and watch out for pick pockets. it was awesome... complete stranger. i love europe. so much passion.

my camera is broken, going to buy a Canon G10 tomorrow. some pics are coming. til then. HAPPY THANKSGIVING.

loves.
